I've watched this so many times, when looking for inspiration in my playing. I don't find it here as I know I will never be able to play a bar like he does. In reality, he's probably the greatest pianist that ever lived, and his best friend; the greatest composer.
Superb - never played better.
Speechless (bow). What a great communicator, not just a musician.
take 6 was amazing!!!
What outstanding control of voice, pleasant to the ear, and graceful! She sings unlike the majority, who capriciously alternate to high pitches using a lot of vibrato.
🎹🇲🇽😂💗

🎉inolvidable Polonesa. 🎹🇲🇽😂💗
En clases de piano. 🎹🇲🇽😂
20. 24. 🇲🇽😂🏆💗
They just don't make pianists like him anymore! :)
Leopold!
If I could be there and listen his live music…
This is so beautiful!!!
I think this performance was taken place in The White House and played in front of JFK and Jacqueline. It's the greatest performance ever in my opinion.
In January of 1970, my music professor held up four free tickets to hear Rubinstein at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh that evening. It was stage seating only - and no more chairs. That meant the floor. I had an economics exam the next morning and thought it best to forego the Maestro and cram. What do I remember of Samuelson's "guns and butter" philosophy. Very little. However I sorely regret not seeing the great Rubinstein where I could have sat under his piano while he played.
My favorite pianist and interpreter in all classical music. That smile at the end ❤
Wilhelm Kempff and Emil Gilels had more colorful beautiful piano sound for Beethoven than Solomon! Radu Lupu his Brahms piano concerto no 1 with the Finnish Radio Symphony video youtube from 1996! Lupu had the most colorful piano sound sound for Brahms no 1! Lupu had more warmer sound than Solomon's Brahms no 1! The best Brahms concerto no 2 are Really=Sviatoslav Richter who was more monumental and genius than Solomon's Brahms no 2! Grigory Sokolov his Brahms concerto no 2 Sokolov the best piano sound better than Solomon! Sokolov his rhythmic vitalness is unbeatable! Sokolov more titanic than Solomon!
Wanda Miss simpatia 😂
Who else was in the room in this clip? Im very curious whom he was playing it for
Mvt.4 my bedtime song.
I love the way he bangs out the incredibly difficult octaves in the final bars of the black key etude like it's nothing...nobody comes close to his proficiency at octaves
Classic Horowitz. What a joy he was. Slightly crazy but a joy. Such a beautiful heart and soul.
Ever tried Samson François ?
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful ❤❤❤
It seems to me its more about showing off rather than musicality.
The clarity but richness of the Mozart is absolutely incredible
For those who feel Lipatti and Perlemuter (from the ‘60s) shared an authentic Chopin - classical rather than romantic, supple, ardent but perfectly proportioned - Solomon joins them on Parnassus.
He was The greatest in his time
The Liszt Etude was extraordinary. You have just seen an up and personal look at the great man. How great is that? Imagine seeing Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, etc.? Alive in video. Fabulous!
It’s not an Etude by Liszt. It’s from his Years of pilgrimage
@@charliegold3227 Of course, you are right.
The posture, the hands, the deft touch- a truly great musician.
If you always go back to the place where you were happy then I would always come back here with great pleasure
Genius making speak The piano
"moszkowski maybe? :D" "no" *proceeds to moszkowski all over her
👏👏👏👏👏👏el mejor!
They should show this at every Rubinstein Piano Competition.

Exquisite! A hint of the Carmen Variations can be heard at min.1.34 .
Pianista completo, extraordinario!.
I adore Edith Mathis.
For anyone wanting to criticize because of Glenn’s technical velocity, deep down it’s probably because they are jealous they do not have the same ability.
Sounds a bit like the ride of the valkyries
he was so sweet oml
